Next July, the Kinett in Kusel will once again become a vibrant center for music lovers. As the Rhine Palatinate reports, there are four exciting shows on the program, with bands from Montreal, Paris, New York and Seattle enriching the summer with their unique sounds.

It starts onJuly 3rdthe band Distraction4ever from Montreal. This synth-wave group brings an exciting package of post-punk influences, analog synthesizers and fast-paced drum machines to the stage. The two members Beau Geste and Splitshift await their fans with releases such as “Please Don’t Think about Tomorrow” (2022) and the current album “Business Core” (2024). The concert starts at 9 p.m.

OnJuly 6thfollow the Parisian Ménades, whose post-punk sound is rebellious and energetic. Their latest release “Sur leurs cendres” promises live, positive vibes and a healthy dose of rock. Here too, the concert starts at 9 p.m. If you want to immerse yourself in the lively music scene in Paris, you shouldn't miss this event.

Week of highlights

A real highlight is onJuly 13ththe New York band Glimmer. They combine grunge and gauze and were only founded in 2023. Their unmistakable sound with hard guitars and catchy hooks was already convincing with the latest single “Sorrow Again”. Particular attention is being paid to their debut LP, which is planned for the end of 2025. Their mail also leaves at 9 p.m.!

The final night, onJuly 14th, belongs to Acid Tongue from Seattle. This indie glam rock act led by Guy Keltner ensures an exuberant atmosphere with a mixture of glam, psychedelia and power pop and presents their latest release “Acid on the Dancefloor” (2024). It also starts at 9 p.m.

New arrivals from Greece

In addition to the international acts, the Kinett also presents two fresh bands from Greece. As can be found on the Kinett website, visitors can look forward to The Page of Cups and Come. The Page of Cups combine indie pop with industrial and electronic sounds, while their sound is nostalgic and forward-looking. With powerful guitars and catchy melodies, the band ensures a captivating live performance.

The band Come, on the other hand, is committed to a rough rock sound with a punk attitude. The group, which emerged from a pagan wedding and busking adventure in Mykonos in early 2024, has quickly conquered the Greek underground scene. In doing so, they continue to drive the dynamism and diversity of the festival forward.

Given the historical evolution of music festivals, dating back to legendary events like Woodstock, current trends show how music contributes to social movement and community experience. In its beginnings, Woodstock was not just a musical event, but a platform for cultural change and the commitment to peace and freedom schupfartfestival.ch describes. These ideals can also be found in the programs of modern festivals, which focus on diversity and inclusion.

A summer full of exciting sounds is coming! Don't miss the opportunity to see these great bands live and become part of a vibrant music community.
