Committed to animals: Fressnapf Awards for animal rights activists and their heroes!

On October 11, 2025, the event “Between Spaces” will take place at Urhof20 in Gloggnitz, organized by Clemens Mitteregger. This event offers a platform for creative encounters and discussions. During this time, another important event will also come into the spotlight: the “Animally Engaged” Awards from Fressnapf Austria, which will be presented for the twelfth time this year. The award honors animal rights activists from all federal states who are committed to the well-being of animals and their people. The focus is particularly on the “Pet of the Year”, which is being chosen for the second time. This is where our hearts unite for the animal companion in our families.

Fressnapf's “Animally Committed” initiative aims to support animal protection projects. The donations collected flow into three wonderful initiatives: the Rappottenstein Children's Castle, the Austrian Nature Conservation Association and e.motion Equotherapie. The Rappottenstein Children's Castle, supported by the Austrian Red Cross, offers recreational opportunities for families with seriously ill or traumatized children. The focus here is on individually tailored care, with creative workshops and the opportunity to spend time with animals.

Commitment to nature and animals

The Austrian Nature Conservation Association is another beneficiary of the “Animally Committed” campaign. This non-profit organization has been committed to protecting animals and habitats since 1913. Through various species protection projects and campaigns, such as the nature clearance campaign, the association has already secured over 2,000 endangered landscapes and thus contributes to raising awareness of the importance of our nature.

Last but not least, e.motion Equotherapie is active as part of the initiative. This association helps children with cancer and their families by offering animal-assisted therapies on a farm near Pyhra. Every year, around 400 children are looked after here, who have the opportunity to noticeably improve their quality of life through contact with therapy horses and other animals.

Call for participation

In addition to these highlights, a mega survey entitled “This is how Lower Austria ticks” is currently taking place. This survey aims to find out the population's opinions on housing costs, future prospects for children and the role of agriculture. Anyone who takes part has the chance to win fantastic prizes worth up to 34,000 euros in the form of annual purchases. The need in Gloggnitz is great: former municipal buildings, such as the town hall, are empty and could be converted into a kindergarten to cover the existing need for three kindergarten groups and a day care facility for small children. There is more than just change in the air here – a real step into the future is required here.

In summary: There is a lot to do in Gloggnitz. Whether in the awarding of the “Animally Engaged” awards or in the redesign of the former town hall – the community has the opportunity to actively shape and promote what is important.
