Sparkasse Bamberg fundraising marathon: 20,000 euros for good causes!
In the run-up to Christmas, the good comes into focus more and more. The Sparkasse Bamberg fundraising marathon, which will take place from November 24th, 2023 to December 5th, 2025 on the WirWunder platform, has set itself the goal of supporting social projects in the region and promoting local commitment. With a campaign budget of 20,000 euros, which is 10,000 euros higher than the previous campaign, the Sparkasse is ready to support numerous initiatives.
Clubs and social organizations can present their projects on WirWunder and look for committed supporters. At the end of the campaign period, the campaign pot provided will be distributed proportionately to the participating projects, with the proportion of donations collected being decisive. An example: A club that receives 5% of the total donations also receives 5% of the campaign pot.
How can you help?
Everyone who has a good knack for social projects is called upon to create their club projects on WirWunder and actively look for donors. This type of support is not only a great way to help others, but also strengthens togetherness in the region. A strong sense of community is needed more than ever at a time like this.
But it is not only in Germany that social concerns are supported. An impressive example comes from Johnson & Johnson, where a major fundraising event called “Cycling for Children” took place from September 12th to 14th, 2025. Around 7,500 employees collectively collected 260,000 euros for the eye health of children worldwide. Every kilometer driven, whether on the exercise bike or outside, counted. These donations support the Lions Clubs International Foundation's Sight for Kids initiative, which enables children to have access to vision tests and eyeglasses.
Eye health in everyday life
These days, when awareness of social projects is growing, eye health is also an important topic. The need to take good care of our eyes is often overlooked. A study by R7 Noticias shows that rubbing the eyes can cause micro-injuries to the cornea. This protected layer is crucial for vision and, if damaged, can lead to serious conditions such as keratoconus, which in severe cases may even require a corneal transplant. The risk of infections also increases.
To be good for your eyes, simple everyday habits should be taken into account: wash your hands thoroughly, use eye drops if necessary, and treat allergies in a timely manner to avoid itching. Cold compresses can also be helpful to give the eyes time to recover.
These initiatives and advice show how important engagement and care are in our community and our everyday lives. It is up to us to take responsibility and promote good, be it through donations, campaigns or through our own health.
