On September 4, 2025, a very special birthday was celebrated in Steinbach am Wald: Joachim Wiegand, the senior partner and former managing partner of Wiegand-Glas, turned 90 years old. The Kronach native has not only made a name for himself in business, but also as a socially committed person who has supported countless clubs and projects in his homeland. The Franconian day reports that Wiegand was awarded the Bavarian Constitutional Order in 2024 for his services to the general public.

His life's work is not only characterized by success, but also by a lot of commitment to others. The founding of the “Joachim Wiegand Sports Foundation” was an important step towards realizing the Rennsteighalle, a multi-purpose sports hall in Steinbach am Wald. During his time as a member of the local council for twelve years, he was actively involved in the community. Wiegand was particularly recognized by his appointment as an honorary citizen of the community of Steinbach am Wald in 2004 and of the city of Großbreitenbach in 2008.

On the day of the festival itself, Joachim Wiegand was duly celebrated.
