On Saturday morning, September 1st, 2025, a remarkable incident occurred in Ludwigschorgast, which fortunately had a mild outcome. A 75-year-old driver crashed his vehicle into a house wall on Obere Marktstrasse at around 10:35 a.m. The driver got into an awkward situation when he tried to avoid an oncoming car in a narrow area and lost control of his vehicle.

The good news: There were no injuries in this accident. The material damage, on the other hand, is not negligible: the damage to the car is estimated at at least 5,000 euros, while the building suffered damage of around 2,000 euros. While investigating the accident, officers smelled alcohol from the driver. A breath alcohol test carried out showed a value of 0.4 per mille. Interestingly, insurance companies can deny or reduce coverage in the event of an accident while under the influence of alcohol, making it particularly risky to take the wheel after a drink or two.

This incident in Ludwigschorgast reminds us how important it is to drive responsibly and to comply with applicable laws. Fortunately, the situation here ended without any injuries, but the amount of damage shows that such an incident can quickly have serious economic consequences.
