On September 29, 2025, around 8:20 p.m., a fire broke out at a party office in Perlach. The property damage amounts to several thousand euros, but that was just the beginning. Just a few days later, on October 2, 2025, there was another fire in exactly the same location, but this time with six-figure property damage. A witness saw an unknown male person in front of the building shortly before the second fire. The search for the suspect was initially unsuccessful Bavaria Police reported.
The following Sunday, October 5, 2025, around 2:30 a.m., an unknown person lit another fire in front of a party building in Schwabing-Freimann. Here too, the search efforts did not lead to the arrest of a suspect. The investigations by Criminal Investigation Department 4, which is responsible for politically motivated crime, ultimately came to the conclusion that there was a connection between all three cases.
Arrest of the suspect
Investigators identified a 20-year-old German from Munich as the main suspect. After intensive research, he was arrested near his home on October 7, 2025. The public prosecutor immediately obtained an arrest warrant and the suspect was transferred to the Munich Police Headquarters detention center. The following day he had to face an investigating judge who executed the arrest warrant. The investigation into arson is now being continued by Criminal Investigation Department 4.
Politically motivated crime at a glance
