Schwandorf Citizens' Festival 2025: Celebrate, feast and take part!

The Schwandorfer Bürgerfest is just around the corner and promises an unforgettable experience for all visitors. From July 11th to 13th, 2025, the city center will be transformed into a vibrant festival area with many attractions and activities. The festival is organized by Office of Culture and Tourism, which puts together an extensive program. Mayor Andreas Feller will ceremoniously open the festival on Friday at 6 p.m.

A total of eight festival sites await visitors, including Schlesierplatz, which was closed last year due to extensive construction work. The festival offers a perfect opportunity to stroll through the streets and celebrate togetherness in Schwandorf. There is something for every taste, from musical performances to culinary delights to exciting activities for young and old.

A diverse program

The program is a real feast for the eyes. On Friday, visitors can enjoy brass bands and “Pina Coladas” from 6 p.m. to midnight. Saturday starts at 4 p.m. with brass music by Andreas Königsberger and the band Kulticz and ends at midnight. On Sunday the day begins with a church service at 10:30 a.m., followed by a musical mix with “Schmankerl Musik”, “4fun” and the “Strandläufer” until 11 p.m.

There is also a lot of supporting programs in the city park. Here you can experience hands-on activities with SV Schwandorf-Ettmannsdorf in the sports arena, while the canoe club opens for little water lovers on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The highlight of Saturday evening will be the enchanting lantern ride on the Naab, complemented by a traditional Kocherlball on Saturday morning, which starts at 6 a.m.

Children's entertainment and culinary delights

The ARGE Youth has set up a play street for the little guests, which has craft stations, face painting and a clown theater. On Sunday lunchtime the kids can take part in the children's paddling at the canoe club. It will also be a culinary feast: from Thai dishes to langos and burgers to traditional pierogi and crepes – there is something for everyone here.

The party mile on the Lower Market Square is filled with music from various bands and ensures a consistently exuberant atmosphere. So if you would like to dance, this is the right place for you.

Logistics and directions

There are numerous parking options available for your arrival. Free parking spaces can be found in the municipal parking garages, for example on Paul-von-Denis-Straße or at the Volksfestplatz. Unfortunately, the city center streets will have to be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. on Friday, July 11th. However, residents, traders and delivery traffic are exempt from these closures.
