On Friday, July 11, 2025, Schwandorf will once again be the center of the celebrations, because... Schwandorf Citizens Festival goes into the 19th round. For two days, the city becomes the setting for a colorful program that attracts both locals and visitors. Mayor Andreas Feller emphasizes how important cooperation between restaurants, clubs and organizers is for the success of this festival.
With a total of six stages and around 60 bands and groups, there is something for every taste. The musical palette ranges from brass and brass music to rock and jazz to folk, country and reggae. Music director Werner Robold has made it his mission to sign old and new talent, including the popular seven brass bands.
Diverse stage program
The opening program is promising. The Bum Bum Band will hit the market square at 6 p.m. with German-language party rock. Attention, party alarm! From 9 p.m. Blechzipfl will provide an alternative musical note. On Adolf Kolping Square DJ Länzo will bring beats from the club scene from 6 p.m., followed by DJ Blancko and a Berlin star DJ who will bring the night to life.
The city park will feature Jara Milo, who will be playing rock and blues classics. If you would like to immerse yourself in the pop-rap-soul world, you should check out the TomTainment Band feat. Don't miss Dimi Rompos at 10 p.m. And Breite Straße also has a lot to offer musically: The Tanja Rotsch Band will celebrate rock and pop hits at 6 p.m., while Skavaria will provide Balkan ska reggae funk a little later.
Culinary delights and other attractions
But the community festival is not just a festival for music lovers. The culinary offering ranges from down-to-earth to unusual. Anyone who wants to experience Bavarian hospitality and culture will get their money's worth here. In addition, there is a samba drummer Sarara for street entertainment, while the walking acts of the “Gentlemen” and actors from the SADTheater enrich the festival.
Breite Straße is also transformed into a play paradise for the little ones, provided by ARGE Jugend. There is a clown theater and a participatory circus here. The Punch and Judy show in the city museum is also very popular on both days.
Parking spaces are available free of charge during the community festival, including special spaces for people with disabilities at the hospital car park, Wackersdorfer Bahnhof and Augustinstrasse.
