Clemens Bieber returns to his roots! After 38 impressive years as an ensemble member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the celebrated lyric tenor will be back on stage in his hometown of Würzburg on October 19, 2025. He will take on the solo part at the cathedral music's autumn concert. Bieber, who was born on January 26, 1956 in Würzburg, began his musical career by studying singing at the University of Music in his hometown. After his first engagements, including at the Saarland State Theater, he caused a sensation at the Deutsche Oper Berlin from 1988, where he was engaged until his retirement in 2022. In addition to his numerous appearances in Berlin, he also made guest appearances at internationally renowned opera houses such as the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Bayreuth Festival, where he became an integral part of the performances. At these festivals he worked, among other things, as a helmsman in “The Flying Dutchman” and as Walther von der Vogelweide in “Tannhäuser”. The Deutsche Oper Berlin reports on Bieber's important roles, including Tamino in “The Magic Flute” and Evangelist in the “St. Matthew Passion”.

His artistic career has been honored with numerous awards: Clemens Bieber was appointed Berliner Kammersänger in 2010, which represents an enormous step in his career.
