On November 4th, 2025, a cruel incident in Heringen (Werra) caused a stir. The cat named Yuki, who had been missing since early August, was shot down with an air rifle. The owner, Muhammed Solak, initially didn't suspect anything unusual as Yuki is an outdoor animal. However, after several weeks, he became increasingly worried looking for his beloved cat and finally received a call that Yuki had been found. Unfortunately, her examination revealed a fractured pelvis and a projectile next to her spine.
After learning of his cat's terrible condition, Solak immediately took Yuki to the vet. An x-ray confirmed the fractures to the pelvis and showed that surgery was necessary at a veterinary clinic near Frankfurt. The cost of this procedure amounts to several thousand euros, which puts Solak in a difficult position.
The suspicion of an accident
Solak suspects that the broken pelvis could have been caused by a car accident, but is certain that the gunshot wound, in addition to the fractures, contributed significantly to Yuki's damage. The operation also turned out to be more complicated than originally expected, which is why Solak now has to think again about whether he should have the risky operation carried out. For Solak, Yuki is not just a pet, but a real family member. Concerned for their well-being, he urges those around him not to ignore such cruel acts.
This incident not only raises questions about the treatment of animals, but also serves as a reminder of the importance of being aware and taking action against violence against animals. Solak hopes his story will encourage others to not look away and raise awareness of such acts.
