PNE AG: Sales increase, but wind conditions impact results!
Something is happening in the world of renewable energies in Cologne. PNE AG recorded a jump in sales in the first half of 2025, while results were affected by adverse weather conditions. Weak wind conditions at the beginning of the year produced less electricity and caused the company's earnings to plummet. Nevertheless, the project pipeline has grown slightly and offers positive prospects for the future.
In detail, PNE AG increased its sales revenue from 60.6 million euros to 73.9 million euros. Compared to the previous year, however, EBITDA fell from 8.7 million euros to just 4.7 million euros. The operating profit (EBIT) slipped from minus 6.9 million euros to minus 14 million euros. Basic earnings per share also fell from minus 0.26 euros to minus 0.40 euros. Despite these setbacks, the forecast for the full year remains optimistic, with EBITDA expected to be between 70 and 110 million euros.
Stable project pipeline and successes in construction
PNE AG's project pipeline has remained stable and has increased slightly to 19.0 gigawatts. The share of onshore wind energy is 9.9 gigawatts, while offshore wind accounts for 2.5 gigawatts. In the photovoltaics sector, the pipeline is at 6.6 gigawatt peak, which represents a small increase compared to the previous year. Around 4.2 gigawatts are available in Germany and 12.3 gigawatts internationally.
There are currently 14 wind farms under construction with a total output of 282.2 megawatts. What is particularly pleasing is that eight wind projects with 167.1 megawatts and one photovoltaic project with 124 megawatt peak have already been approved. In total, permits were granted for around 489 megawatts, including international projects. The company's own operating portfolio was also expanded to 490.9 megawatts, which can be attributed to the commissioning of four new wind farms.
