Tjark Höpfner: Farewell to SC Spelle-Venhaus to study in Hamburg

SC Spelle-Venhaus has to say goodbye to its defensive player Tjark Höpfner for the winter break. The 20-year-old is leaving the club after a year and a half for a positive but also challenging reason: he is continuing his studies in business administration in Hamburg. Höpfner himself, who comes from Hörstel, describes his time at SC Spelle-Venhaus as entirely positive and particularly appreciates the great solidarity and family atmosphere within the team. This closeness led to the young player being able to build close relationships with his teammates and coaches, which he describes as one of the biggest highlights of his career so far, in addition to his sporting success in August 2024, when he received the Lower Saxony Goal of the Month award for a fantastic goal against BSV Rehden. A shot from around 30 meters away earned him this honor.

In total, Höpfner appeared on the pitch 28 times for the Spellers and scored three goals. He started his career at SV Teuto Riesenbeck before moving to Preußen Münster, where he celebrated the championship in the Westphalia League. These experiences helped him to successfully make the transition to the SC Spelle-Venhaus men's team. His former coach and current sporting director, Tobias Harink, emphasizes that Höpfner has great potential and particularly appreciates the down-to-earth nature of the talent. Despite several injuries, he was able to prove himself as a reliable team player and was well integrated into the team. He commuted between Hamburg and Spelle in order to continue taking part in his games and training sessions.

Future plans and return options

Although Höpfner already lives in Hamburg, he informed the club of his plans early on and is expected to be in the squad for the last league game of 2025 against Lupo-Martini Wolfsburg. He left future sporting prospects open; Rumors say that he has already made contact with another major league club. Markus Schütte, the sporting director of SC Spelle-Venhaus, emphasizes that the doors are always open for Höpfner should he wish to return to Spelle. This openness signals the mutual trust and respect that the club has for the talented player.

The farewell to Tjark Höpfner is a loss for SC Spelle-Venhaus, but it also shows the exciting development of a promising talent. The decision to focus on academic goals shows foresight and a sense of responsibility, qualities that he also demonstrated in his football career. It remains to be hoped that the club and Höpfner will remain connected in the future, no matter which path is taken.
