St. Martin's parade in Westfalenpark: light and fun for the family!
Things are about to get festive in Cologne: On Saturday, November 8th, the eagerly awaited St. Martin's parade will take place in Westfalenpark. This event is aimed at visitors of all ages and promises an unforgettable experience with lantern parades, music and a performance of the St. Martin's legend. The starting shot will be fired at 5:15 p.m. at the Ruhrallee entrance, where the participants should gather at 4:45 p.m. to march off together into the twilight. The parade ends around 7 p.m. and offers numerous options for catering during the process - from bratwursts to sweet pretzels to warm drinks, which will ensure the physical well-being of guests young and old.
Entry to this family-friendly event costs 3.50 euros per person, starting from age two. It is important to note that access is only possible with a valid ticket, which can be purchased online in advance. This also applies to holders of annual tickets and Dortmund cards who require a free online ticket. The number of participants is limited, which is why it makes sense to book tickets early. A digital ticket on your smartphone is sufficient; printed tickets are not necessary. The RUHR.TOPCARD is not valid for this event.
A highlight of the city
The planning and implementation of the St. Martin parade is supported by the Freundeskreis Westfalenpark e.V., while the professional implementation is guaranteed by B+B Veranstaltungstechnik Dortmund GmbH. This collaboration ensures that everything runs smoothly and that spectators and participants can experience an unforgettable celebration. Children in particular will be delighted to be able to experience the St. Martin's legend up close, while the lights from the lanterns bathe the park in a warm, festive glow.
At a time when such traditional events are experiencing a revival, both the community and the local economy can benefit from such significant events. These types of gatherings not only promote cohesion, but also bring a breath of fresh air into our city's culture. That's why it's time for all Cologne residents and visitors - go to Westfalenpark and celebrate the St. Martin's parade together!
