Celebratory anniversary: 10 years of the Holland market in Homberg on June 15th!
On June 15, 2025, the Hollandmarkt in Homberg will celebrate its 10th anniversary. This is not only an occasion to celebrate, but also a wonderful opportunity for citizens and visitors to come together and enjoy the special flair of Dutch culture. The event locations, Augustastrasse and Bismarckplatz, are transformed into a colorful market on this day. The citizens' association “Die Homberger e.V.” In cooperation with Henk ter Hennepe, has put together a diverse offering that both delights the senses and pampers the palate.
What can visitors expect? A gourmet's paradise with typical Dutch delicacies such as kibbeling, poffertjes and licorice. There are also savory dishes from the sausage and cheese counter, fresh fruit and vegetables, fragrant flowers and sweet waffles. And of course the selection of chilled drinks should not be missing to refresh yourself on the day and recharge your batteries in between. This colorful palette ensures that there is something for everyone and the market becomes a real attraction for young and old.
A celebration for the community
The motto of the anniversary is “Holiday day in German Holland”, which perfectly underlines the character of the market. The organizers expect a larger crowd than in previous years. Especially since the event in Krefeld Ürdingen is no longer taking place, the Holland market in Duisburg-Homberg is likely to be particularly popular on this day. The enthusiasm that the markets spread is not only due to the culinary delicacies, but also to the cheerful togetherness that is encouraged here.
This year too, visitors can look forward to the sounds of brass music, which will bring the market to life and create a good atmosphere. The market experience is enriched not only by the diverse offerings, but also by the musical accompaniment.
Dutch markets in NRW
The events in North Rhine-Westphalia have their origins in 1990, when a twin town partnership was established between Hengelo in the Netherlands and Emsdetten. The Dutch markets are now among the largest of their kind in Germany and enjoy numerous regular guests. A total of four dates are planned for this June, with the Holland market in Duisburg-Homberg as one of the central highlights:
| Date | Location |
|---|---|
| June 1st | Holland market in Ennigerloh |
| June 15th | Holland market in Duisburg-Homberg |
| June 22nd | Holland market in Rödinghausen |
| June 29th | Holland market in Sundern |
After this colorful hustle and bustle there will be a summer break from July 1st to August 31st, before it continues on September 28th in Werl near Unna. The Dutch markets are always a great opportunity to experience the Dutch way of life and the friendly neighborhood.
So don't miss the 10th anniversary of the Hollandmarkt in Homberg. It will be a wonderful opportunity to make friends, make new acquaintances and celebrate the diversity of Dutch culture.
