Euskirchen celebrates Carnival: Colorful diversity awaits at the Old Market!
As the fool's call suggests, the fifth season is just around the corner in Euskirchen! The carnival season opens on November 11th in the popular Maat Stüffje restaurant on the Old Market. At the celebrations, which start at lunchtime, landlord Jörg Peter will provide a cheerful change of atmosphere, which is a welcome alternative to the hustle and bustle of Cologne. He emphasizes: “Here you can simply celebrate in peace and be in good company.”
It will be particularly musical: visitors can look forward to live music from Marco Schönecker and Michael Schorn, who will perform old Cologne songs. Schönecker, who is a vocational school teacher in Cologne, sees the event as a wonderful opportunity to experience the carnival fun in his hometown. The KG Nubbel samba troupe is also taking part. The colorful hustle and bustle is underpinned by the motto “Jeck against the Right 6.0”, which sends a strong signal for diversity and tolerance. From 11:11 a.m. an impressive colorful fish cart by the artist Jacques Tilly will be on display at the Old Market - as always with the clear message “We are more”.
Diversity and community
The event includes a diverse supporting program: In addition to music from the band JustWe and the Zimmer-Hartmann day care choir, there will also be speeches and information stands. Children's activities, a carousel and face painting are planned for the littlest kids, which enrich the day especially for families. And don't forget the exclusive medal "Jeck against the Right 6.0", which is only available on this day!
In the afternoon, from 1:11 p.m., the exhibition “BeYOUtiful” with the works of the talented artist Gottfried Dunkel will also open. This event is not only another highlight in the carnival calendar, but also an exciting opportunity for visitors to be creatively inspired.
Tradition and freedom
The official carnival opening in Euskirchen traditionally takes place on the Saturday after the eleventh in the eleventh, this year on November 15th. Here, too, you can look forward to a big session opening, at which the bands Fiasko, Timo Schwarzendahl, Philipp Goudart, Julie Voyage and Die Räuber will perform, among others. Admission to the opening of the session is even completely free - a great opportunity to get into the festive atmosphere.
Between the colorful offerings there will also be a special postcard: Niklas Kappenstein designed this with a motif of the Old Market, which will be available free of charge at Maat Stüffje. A real collector's item for all carnivalists!
Euskirchen will once again become a place of celebration, diversity and cohesion - all in the spirit of Carnival. And while it's all about happy songs and exuberant dancing, the fools can claim their place in a peaceful way.
