Pretzel Festival 2025: Speyer celebrates with a parade and endless festivities!

At this year's Brezelfest in Speyer, which takes place from July 10th to 15th, 2025, things are going to be very busy! Today, July 14th, the traditionally cheerful morning pint of the Speyer Tourist Office took place at the “Schwarzwaldmädel-Haus”, where Uwe Wöhlert and Claus Rehberger warmly welcomed the guests. The festival is celebrating its 115th anniversary, and the anticipation for the coming days is palpable. Again Speyer courier reports, the morning pint was enriched with a loudspeaker system thanks to the generous support of Till Meßmer from the Vereinigte VR Bank.

Special thanks also go to those responsible for the city administration, such as Mayor Stefanie Seiler and Mayor Monika Kabs, who graced the festival with their presence. The reliable support from the police, fire brigade, the ASB and the THW contributes significantly to the safety and successful implementation of the pretzel festival. Another highlight is the pretzel festival picture auction, which was organized by the Round Table members to serve a good cause.

A celebration for everyone

Uwe Wöhlert took the opportunity to emphasize cultural values ​​in his toast and to sensitize the guests to social issues: "A real Pälzer doesn't eat hash. Because our stuff comes from the bottle!" The positive response from the showmen and the police about how the festival has gone so far is a good sign and gives hope for continued positive results.

The opening of the Brezelfest on Thursday was already a complete success, followed by the successful “Day of Speyer” on Friday. This Saturday the coronation of the pretzel queen is on the program, organized by Chrissi Köhler and Bernd Copytz. On Sunday, guests can expect the pretzel festival run and an ecumenical devotion in the festival tent.

The highlight – the pretzel festival parade

In special times, the 2025 Pretzel Festival Parade is likely to be a brilliant highlight. This will be condensed and carried out without motorized vehicles to take safety requirements into account. Like the official website of the Pretzel Festival emphasizes, the celebration, which consists of foot groups and music formations, creates a festive atmosphere. The parade will begin on Sunday, July 13th at 1:30 p.m. and already has 800 participants and 40 train numbers. Prime Minister Alexander Schweitzer will also take part in the parade.

In addition to the numerous rides, visitors are also entertained by international culinary offerings that invite you to feast. This diversity makes the Brezelfest the largest folk festival on the Upper Rhine, which has been celebrated since 1910. A good mood is guaranteed, as is the increased number of S-Bahn trains after midnight and bus connections to the festival site.

Overall, visitors can expect a varied program, including live music, a company day, an LGBTQ+ party and the big final fireworks display, which was the crowning conclusion of this festival.
