Zero new infections: Corona situation in the Trier-Saarburg district is stable!
The Corona situation in the Trier-Saarburg district and throughout Rhineland-Palatinate is showing encouraging developments at the beginning of September 2025. As news.de reports, the new infections remained in the Trier-Saarburg district stable at zero compared to the previous day. We currently count 60,236 people in the district who have tested positive so far.
A look at intensive care shows that there are a total of six intensive care beds available in the district, three of which are occupied. What is particularly pleasing is that no COVID patients currently need to be treated in the intensive care units. The entire situation in Rhineland-Palatinate is reflected in a similar way: Here too, despite continuous monitoring, there is a 7-day incidence of 2.0 per 100,000 inhabitants and no new infections compared to the previous day. The total number of people who have tested positive in the country is 1,809,101.
Age groups and cases of infection
The age groups affected by Corona show a differentiated picture. The highest number of infections can be found in the 35-59 age group, with a total of 692,930 cases. But even the little ones, in the age group 0-4 years, don't have much to smile about - 53,552 cases were recorded here. As for Rhineland-Palatinate, the region is a parliamentary republic within the Federal Republic of Germany and has around 4.1 million inhabitants. This makes it the sixth largest federal state by population.
Vaccination statistics and hospitalized cases
As far as vaccinations against the coronavirus are concerned, 76.3% of the population in Germany had been basic immunized by April 8, 2023, as data from corona-in-zahlen.de shows. A total of around 8,989,016 COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered in Rhineland-Palatinate. The vaccination rate of people vaccinated at least once is 79.10%.
There is currently a hospitalization rate of 1.06 in Rhineland-Palatinate and in the last seven days, 44 COVID-19 cases that required hospitalization were registered. Nevertheless, the occupancy rate of intensive care beds remains high and is currently 82%. Against this background, the fact that only three intensive care beds in the district are occupied is a positive sign.
The situation in society as a whole remains tense, but the situation shows that the infection rate in Rhineland-Palatinate is under control and people can hope for a positive course. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop in the coming weeks. But at the moment you can say that the region has a good hand in dealing with the pandemic.
