TSV Altenholz starts the first Casino Cup: pure handball excitement!

A big event is coming up for handball in Altenholz: The first Casino Cup will be held on July 20, 2023, a nice preparatory tournament for the coming season. The third division handball team TSV Altenholz has put together a strong field of participants that should inspire fans and players alike. Hosts TSV Altenholz will compete against well-known teams, including VfL Fredenbeck, HSG Ostsee Neustadt/Grömitz as well as the U23 teams from THW Kiel and HSV Hamburg. Coach Torge Greve is highly motivated and excited about the games.

As kn-online.de reports, the tournament will be divided into two groups at 10:30 a.m start. The age groups will play in the Edgar Meschkat Hall and the adjacent district hall in Altenholz. An exciting final between the two best teams is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. TSV Altenholz will be competing in their group against HSV-U23 and VfL Fredenbeck.

Partnership with Casino Kiel

Another reason to be happy is the extension of the partnership between TSV Altenholz and Casino Kiel, which has now existed for seven years. This close cooperation will not only promote the economic aspects, but also the sporting development of the players. With every year, the two partners set new standards in the field of handball and contribute to improving the club's youth work, according to information from TSV Altenholz.

Since the founding of the joint GmbH “Team Handball Altenholz” in 2015, the two clubs have made it their mission to establish Kiel as one of the first addresses for promoting young talent in German handball. The management under Sönke Bergemann (THW Kiel) and Matthias Fehrke (TSV Altenholz) is working on a concept that should also bear fruit in the 2nd Bundesliga. The aim is to support talented handball players in the best possible way and to offer them a solid foundation for their sporting career.

Successes of German handball

In the context of current developments in handball, a look at the youth work of the German Handball Federation (DHB) should not be missed. Recent successes such as the recognition of players such as Viola Leuchter and Juri Knorr in the all-star teams of the last World Championships show that the promotion of young talent is bearing fruit. Nils Lichtlein was also named the best player of the U21 World Cup, which underlines the positive trend in talent development, as handball-world.news reports.

In summary, it can be said that the handball scene in Altenholz and Kiel is flourishing. With exciting tournaments, strong partnerships and committed youth work, everyone involved strives to promote the next generation of handball players. So it will be exciting to see how the talents develop and perhaps soon move up to the senior national teams.
