Wasbek Fairy Tale Stage: New year, new piece – set the table!
An exciting year is coming to an end, and the Wasbek fairytale stage is looking back on a very special 2025. Curious children, laughing families and loyal visitors flocked to the performances and experienced lively encounters with old and new fairy tales. “We would like to thank our audience, the many helpers and are pleased about the positive feedback,” says Sven Jacobsen, who is responsible for the fairytale stage Handpuppentheater Wasbek e.V. A beautiful outlook for 2026 promises not only the continuation of the current fairy tale, but also the planning of a new production of a well-known fairy tale.
Those responsible are particularly looking forward to the planned performance of the hand puppet show “Tischlein deck dich”, which will take place from January 17th to March 7th, 2026. In this exciting story, the three brothers go out into the world to learn a craft, each with their own miraculous gifts: a little table that sets itself, a donkey that produces gold pieces, and a club that acts on command. But a cunning innkeeper has other plans and steals two important treasures. The youngest brother must show with courage and intelligence whether he and his brothers can regain their happiness; ultimately the decision will be made on their last and most important journey. The citizens can expect this and more at the Wasbek fairytale stage, as maerchenbuehne.com reports.
A look outside the box
And while the Wasbek fairytale stage starts the new year with fresh ideas, the Theater Factory can look back on an impressive success story. Since its founding in 2004, the family theater has thrilled over 1.5 million viewers across Europe and offers over 150 shows seasonally in various cities, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The productions, which are based on well-known children's television series, are not only in-house productions, but are also a visual and acoustic delight for viewers of all ages. Specializing in hand-made dolls that are creatively designed, the ensemble shows stories that make children's eyes light up, as theater-factory.com shows.
The next few months have a lot in store for theater lovers. The Wasbek Fairy Tale Stage, which has a regional preference, and the internationally successful Theater Factory, which attracts visitors with its fantastic performances, manage to make the cultural scene lively and varied. Regardless of whether you are a fan of classic fairy tales or modern stories, 2026 is sure to attract many young and old visitors to the theaters.
