Thousands flock to the Altenoyth farmers market – autumn festival for the senses!

Autumn time is market time! Today the farmers' market in Altenoythe attracted thousands of visitors in brilliant weather who were able to prepare themselves for a colorful hustle and bustle. As NWZonline reports, the market opened at 10 a.m. and offered an excellent opportunity to explore the regional products in perfect autumn weather.

Among the almost 100 stands, visitors found a variety of offerings - from delicious honey and hearty meat specialties to artistic wooden figures and commercial decorative items. Most of the products come from the immediate area, which ensures freshness and quality. The farmers' market in Altenoythe is not only one of the largest events for farm direct marketing in northwest Lower Saxony, but also attracts tens of thousands of guests every year who stroll through the area in a short space of time. In addition, the official website of the market emphasizes, that only high-quality, handcrafted items are offered, while flea market items are not permitted.

A feast for the senses

The lack of parking spaces around the market testified to the great popularity of the event; Altenoyther Strasse had to hungrily wave cars all the way to St. Vitus Church. But the effort of parking was worth it, after all, the market has a varied program. The deputy district administrator Bernhard Möller welcomed the numerous guests as patron at 11 a.m. and created a festive atmosphere. Musical accompaniment by the music club and hunting horn players rounded off the experience.

Not only culinary delights are on the program; The volunteer fire department also opened its garages and presented its fleet of vehicles to the enthusiastic spectators. The Cloppenburg hunters' association was there with a rolling forest school, which provided insights into the local nature. The Altenoythe Oldtimer Club also presented historic tractors, which brought amazement to the faces of young and old alike.

Tradition and community

The Altenoyth Farmers' Market has been held for 28 years and has developed from a community of interests into a registered association with currently 17 members. The third Sunday in October has always been a fixed date, and preparations took months to ensure everything went smoothly. This tradition shows how important the farmers' market is for the region, by not only bringing people together, but also focusing on local products.

All in all, it remains to be said: the market in Altenoythe is much more than just a sales area. This is about community, quality and celebrating regional diversity, which makes it a fall highlight.
