SC Neptun Cuxhaven shines at the U12 state championship and comes fourth!
Last weekend the eagerly awaited U12 national water polo championship took place in the Oxstedt outdoor swimming pool in Cuxhaven. The tournament, organized by SC Neptun Cuxhaven, attracted six teams from all over Lower Saxony, including the White Sharks Hannover, SpVg Laatzen and Wolfenbütteler SV 1921. After two exciting days on the water, the final ranking was clear: SC Neptun Cuxhaven took fourth place.
Unfortunately, the start of the tournament didn't go well for the Cuxhaven team. SC Neptun had to admit defeat to the team from Hellas Hildesheim 4:5 in the first game. A difficult start, but the team didn't give up. In the second game there was an impressive 27-1 win against SV Georgsmarienhütte, in which all players were used and the two oldest players, Lisa Prey and Linus Graitz, each scored a goal.
An exciting tournament with close games
But the following games remained just as challenging. In the third match, SC Neptun lost again, this time 7:13 against SpVg Laatzen after a 0:4 deficit. The next meeting against the White Sharks Hannover, who later secured the tournament victory, ended in a narrow 7:9 defeat for the hosts. Finally, SC Neptun was able to come back in the last game with a clear 17-2 win against Wolfenbütteler SV 1921 and thus secure fourth place.

A big team behind the success
A look behind the scenes shows that SC Neptun's success can also be attributed to the excellent work of the coaching and support team, consisting of Vanessa Kokartis, Claudio Milan and Rico Graitz. The team, which includes talented players such as Luis Hennemann, Martha Heppler and Eneas Castro Pillado, has grown and presented a united front despite the defeats.
In conclusion, it can be said that the U12 national championship was a great success and set the course for the next few years in water polo. SC Neptun Cuxhaven has shown that even with a fourth place, many positive aspects can still be highlighted and that the club's talents are promising.
