Next weekend, November 29th and 30th, the Otter Center in Hankensbüttel and other local markets invite you to a wintery experience. As the cold season approaches, there are many opportunities to properly celebrate the pre-Christmas season and enjoy the cozy atmosphere.
The Otter Center opens its doors from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and offers visitors free entry. In addition to a market in the foyer and outdoor area, guests can look forward to numerous hands-on activities and handicrafts. For the adults, mulled wine and extensive browsing are available, while the children can experience a varied program in the restaurant area. It's worth stopping by here and letting yourself be infected by the winter atmosphere.
Christmas magic in Burgau Castle
Another attraction is the Christmas exhibition Burgau Castle, which beckons until December 23, 2024 under the motto “The magic of Christmas past – between longing and nostalgia”. Over 150 exhibitors show traditional handicrafts and culinary delicacies on an impressive 1,200 m². Together with a musical supporting program in the castle courtyard, the visit becomes an unforgettable experience. The exhibition remains open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and even until 7 p.m. on weekends.
And that's not all: from March 1, 2025, visitors can look forward to the spring and Easter exhibition. Not only garden art and decorations can be admired here, but also special products from regional producers such as ceramics and natural cosmetics.
Other Christmas markets in the region
Several other Christmas markets also take place in the area at the same time. For example, the Christmas market in Wöltingerode Monastery on November 29th and 30th invites you to linger. Opening times are Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and handcrafted and delicious products are presented here. The Lübsche Wiehnacht 2025 will also take place in Lübeck from November 28th to November 30th and will feature 40 artisans.
