Ceremonial inauguration of the new fire station in Bad Pyrmont postponed!
The anticipation of the inauguration of the new joint fire station of the Bad Pyrmont and Holzhausen volunteer fire departments must be put on hold for the time being. Originally scheduled for August 30, 2025, the opening has now been postponed to October 30, 2025. The decision was made because construction is not yet fully completed, as the Dewezet reported.
Mayor Klaus Blome emphasizes the importance of being able to present not only a functional building, but also the completed outdoor facilities. In particular, the high fence as well as some paving and planting work have not yet been completed. Although the internal work of the house is almost finished and already furnished, there are still some remaining works to be done.
A “weekend of open gates”
In order to shorten the waiting time, the celebration will take place in the form of an “Open Gates Weekend” on November 1st and 2nd, 2025. A concept that aims to invite the community to visit and introduce the new premises. This decision was made taking into account the autumn holidays to ensure a higher number of visitors.
In the meantime, the fire department plans to move into the new building probably sooner than the end of October. A schedule that the comrades are looking forward to, even if it is still unclear what legal consequences and possible contractual penalties the delayed project could entail. However, the mayor did not comment specifically on the contractual content of the implementation.
Costs within limits
Interestingly, the costs for the project are within the limit set by politicians of 15 million euros. Mayor Blome is optimistic and sees no violations, which also speaks for public safety and the trust of citizens.
These developments not only impact the fire department, but also the entire community. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops in the coming weeks and whether the Bad Pyrmont and Holzhausen fire departments will soon be able to present the new house in all its glory.
